iStopped To Take This Photo (Oxford Street) (2017)
Participatory Public Art Project
iStopped to Take This Photo (Oxford Street) (2017) is a participatory public art project that seeks to investigate the sense of place and reassess our urban experiences in the city. As an attempt to tweak routine experience, the artist stopped passersby to provoke them to reconsider their relationship to the city and the gesture of photographing what they think best represents the place. Instantly taken and uploaded onto the photography application, Instagram, istoppedtotakethisphoto, the anthropological documentation serves to investigate the patterns of perceptions.
