A typical housewife
She selflessly takes great care of my family
Washing our dishes, clothes
& keeping our house tidy.
Water
Overflows /
Routine
Overwhelms.
In her hands I see
A product of weariness
Strong,
Yet incredibly fragile.
The pair of hands that held me gently
When I took my first breathe
Are now bent
Twisting with age
Scars and years of work
Little did I know
Till’ I went up close
We often cared too much about “I”
Neglecting the intangibles
Amidst a senseless pursuit of life.
Perhaps not to the world
But her hands are beautiful to me
For they are a symbol of her love for us over the years
And the reason I am me.
